The Background

Earlier in 2021, the clients, a dynamic couple with a love of entertaining, decided to purchase this 3 bedroom penthouse located on the top floor of the Tanzanite Apartments in the Tiara Residences on the Palm Jumeirah.

The clients are avid entertainers and enjoy hosting business meetings, and networking parties as well as entertaining family and friends on a regular basis.

Hence, Milestone focused on facilitating entertainment through a bold, dynamic transformation of interior and exterior space.

The bar is an exquisite feature of the house. The bar facia is finished in resin, so we commissioned a local resin artist – Avatara by Chandni – to create an art piece on the MDF facia. Chandni created an exquisite resin masterpiece that makes the bar a work of art and gives it a fun, upbeat vibe.

We also redesigned the staircase, which was originally clad with marble. The marble was replaced with PVC floor tiles with a wood-like finish for a streamlined look.

The wood flooring continues around the corner to emphasize the bar area in the open plan layout.

We automated the lighting for the staircase with sensors to turn it on whenever someone used them.

The bar is state-of-the-art, equipped with an ice maker, double refrigerator, wine cooler, trash disposal, and ample storage. We provided storage at the bottom as well as displays above the bar for bottles and glasses.

We worked with an automation company to redo all the wiring in the house. The electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work was all done by Milestone Steel.

The adjacent dining and seating area is minimally designed with elegant furniture in keeping with the sleek, modern look.

The gently-curving royal blue sofa upholstery adds a burst of color to the predominantly white interior palette.

We opted for a stylish modern vibe for the interiors. All the bathrooms were demolished from ceiling to flooring. We used light colors in the bathrooms for a fresh, sleek look. Marble-textured porcelain tiles were used to clad the walls.

These were paired with white fixtures and a white countertop for a minimal look. This matched the light-colored floor tiles, which replaced the original tiling in the villa.

The highlight of the project is the bathroom attached to the den. Here, the client wanted a suave, masculine look so we opted for darker grey and black tones teemed with rich wood cladding on the ceiling and mirror wall. .

The dark tones are offset with a touch of dull gold for the mirror frame.

Dark grey porcelain tiles used for the floor and ceiling of a stylish shower complete the mature look of this den bathroom.

The Result

The interior refurbishment of this villa gives insight to the tastes and personality of its owner. The design is mature, modern and minimal, where less is more. The colors are light for the most part, with darker hues thrown in for effect.

At Milestone, we love a good challenge and we are not afraid to think or create outside the box. If you’re looking for a design with an edge, we are the company to call.
